February Vacation 2015

Vacation Week is Here!

And there are oh so many fun ways to spend it in Appleseed Country this year! It’s time like these where we can boast about great our region really is for kids!

First, we have a mountain of snow! A record amount! And what better way to enjoy the snow than at Wachusett Mountain! Wachusett not only has skiing this week, but they also have a week packed full of fun activities. To quote them, “This is NOT the week to sit at home! Come enjoy a full list of activities with your friends and family here at Wachusett! We’ve got everything from magicians to scientists, mascots to real St. Bernards, games, music, NASTAR racing, and more! Not to mention tasty sampling from Polar!” For more information, visit www.wachusett.com.

More ways to enjoy the snow abound. We have plenty of sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating, and more! Click here to see more details on when and where to go in the region.

For those of you preferring to stay indoors, we have options for you as well! Great Wolf Lodge is an ideal place to spend a winter day! Come for the thrilling waterpark and stay the night! Or, if you are planning on coming just for the day, you can play on the indoor ropes course, bowl in their bowling alley, play the interactive MagiQuest game, visit the arcade with Lazer Frenzy, and so much more. They also have special vacation week events including magicians and Kosmic Kelly science. Visit www.greatwolf.com/newengland for more information.

Another indoor option is Roll On America. Come skating sometime this week. They have many themed days planned including Anna, Elsa, and Olaf from Frozen, Mike and Sully from Monsters, Inc., and the Minions from Dispicable Me. Not only that, but there are pizza buffets, prizes, and brain freeze games. In case that is not enough fun, Roll On also has a lazer tag arena with unlimited laser tag on Tuesday night! For more information, visit  rollonamerica.com.

Do you have an artsy kid who would like to hone those skills? We have a few places offering art classes this vacation. First, check out the Fitchburg Art Museum. They are having classes in sand painting, wind chimes, clay, painting, snowflakes, and more. Click here for more information. Leominster Art Center is also offering classes, including a Mardi Gras Mask making workshop. For more information, visit www.leominsterartcenter.com. The Fitchburg and Leominster Public Libraries have some creative classes as well including duct tape crafts, origami, art, crafts, and more.

We hope that’s enough to help you have a great February Vacation in Appleseed Country!
