Below is a list of what is going on in Johnny Appleseed Country during the month of February. If you are aware of an event that is going on in our region that is not listed here, email it to us, we will be glad to put it on for all our visitors to see!

2 Tuesday, 7 pm. Opening reception for The La Defense Photographs at Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg. Gallery talk at 6:30 pm. Free admission.

13 Saturday, 7:30 pm. Valentine’s Concert with Steve Marvin, Vocalist at Dukakis Performing Arts Center at Monty Tech, Route 2A, Fitchburg. Steve Marvin, New England’s premier vocal entertainer, will entertain you with songs by Tony Bennett, George Gershwin and Frank Sinatra at this concert presented by the Thayer Symphony Orchestra. 17 Wednesday, 7 pm. Penny Rugs at Phillips Free Public Library on the Phillipston Common, presented by Mel Haughton and friends. Call 978-249-8902. Free admission.

21 Sunday, 2 pm.
“The Tuskegee Airmen” at Top Fun Aviation Toy Museum, 21 Prichard Street, Fitchburg. In honor of Black History Month, Curator Rosalie E. Dunbar will discuss the obstacles these men faced and how they triumphed and excelled. Regular Museum admission ($5 for an adult, which also admits one child free) includes program. 978-342-2809.

23 Tuesday, 3:30 pm.
Harrod Lecture: Peter Staab, assistant professor of mathematics, will present “Magic Square” at Fitchburg State College, 160 Pearl St., Fitchburg.

27 Saturday, 8 pm.
Ellis Paul at Percival Auditorium, Fitchburg State College, 160 Pearl St., Fitchburg. Boston’s own troubadour Ellis Paul has been one of the leading voices in the singer/songwriter genre that emerged from the Boston folk scene, creating a movement that revitalized the national acoustic circuit with an urban, literate, folk pop style in the 1990s.
