Below is a list of what is going on in Johnny Appleseed Country during the month of November. If you are aware of an event that is going on in our region that is not listed here, email it to us, we will be glad to put it on for all our visitors to see!
1 Sunday, 11 am–3 pm. Costume Weekend at Davis Farmland, 145 Redstone Hill, Sterling. Costume and parade with MooMoo. Prizes in the haystack, games and crafts. Free with paid admission to Farmland.. Admission $16.95 adults (kids 5 – 12, $12.95). Call 978-422-6666.
1 Sunday, 10 am - 4pm. Ted Silverhand at Silver Hawk, New England’s largest Native American store and gallery, 672 Spring Street, Winchendon. For over 40 years, Ted Silverhand’s readings have aided others in their search to integrate the spiritual into their everyday lives. Call 978-297-3830.
1 Sunday, 10 am–5 pm. Orchid Show and Sale at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Hill Road, Boylston. The Massachusetts orchid Society presents a show with thousands of blooming orchids in a variety of indoor displays. Participate in lectures and tours on orchid care and culture. 3 Tuesday, 2 & 7 pm. Film: The Golden Door (Nuovomondo) at Fitchburg State College, 160 Pearl St., Fitchburg. Sponsored by Center for Italian Culture at Fitchburg State College; park at the Wallace Civic Center, John Fitch Highway and take the FSC shuttle. Tickets, $7.

7 Saturday, 6 – 9 pm. Autumn Wine Celebration at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, 499 Mountain Road, Princeton. Local restaurants will be on hand, sampling some of their finest entrees and live jazz music throughout the evening. More than 200 wines, live jazz music, silent auction to benefit the American Red Cross. 11-15 Wednesday, 4:30, Thursday – Saturday, 7:30 pm, Sunday 2 pm. The Learned Ladies by Moliere at McKay Auditorium, Fitchburg State College, Rindge Road. The women in the household decide they love poetry-- particularly when written by a dashing young poet who steals their hearts. Chaos ensues when the poet takes up residence in their estate. 14 Saturday, 9 am–3 pm. Narragansett Craft Fair at Narragansett Regional High School, Baldwinville Road, Templeton. Sponsored by the Phillipston Parent Teacher Group, the fair features scores of crafters, lunch, bake sale.
14 Saturday, 8 pm. Richie Havens concert at Percival Auditorium, Fitchburg State College, 160 Pearl St., Fitchburg. With a voice unlike anyone else, Richie Havens’ soulful singing has touched thousands since his debut on the Greenwich Village folk scene in the 1960s. Tickets $25. Call 978-665-3347.

15 Sunday, 2 pm. Christmas Ornament Workshop at Top Fun Aviation Toy Museum, 21 Prichard Street, Fitchburg. A number of different ornaments will be available at this workshop for a variety of skill levels. Paint a ceramic or wooden ornament or create a delightful pin and cork airplane. $2 per ornament materials fee in addition to the regular $5 Museum admission. 978-342-2809.

Dylan Thomas’ own recollection of Christmas spent in Wales as a young boy. A magical performance of falling snow, creeping cats, and music and dance that will capture the imaginations of people of all ages. This annual fair features a Country Store with handmade gifts and crafts, theme basket raffles, homemade baked goods, Chinese auction, attic treasures, silent auction, freshly prepared lunch beginning at 11 am and much more! 978-939-8688.
21 Saturday, 9 am –3 pm. Marketplace Bazaar at Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Ave., E. Templeton. An “old fashioned” church fair featuring Santa, a special room for kids to shop, afghans and other handmade items, crafts, pies, fudge, baked goods, theme baskets, Chinese auctions and more. Refreshments in the Tea Room all day.
21-22 Saturday-Sunday, 9 am–5 pm. Open House at Country Mischief, on the Common, Templeton. A relaxing day to kick off the holiday season, with refreshments and a walk through stores “dressed” for the holidays. Call 978-939-5460.
21-22 Saturday & Sunday, 10 am–4 pm. Thanksgiving Harvest Festival at Red Apple Farm, Phillipston. Over 30 North Quabbin farmers and crafters will offer everything for your holiday table from farm-raised turkeys to local apples. The Harvest X-Games will feature The World Wood Stacking and Hay Bale Tossing Competitions and Archery Turkey Shoot.
